For a second year we’re challenging dance music producers and emerging artists from all over the world to showcase their creativity and production prowess by entering our brand new edition of Make it competition - this time, with a focus on the genres of Techno, Afro House and House.

This year, the level of talent has been higher than ever, making the selection process for both the shortlist and the winners incredibly tough. With an impressive prize pool, incredible awards for the winners of each round, and an out-of-this-world grand prize for the ultimate champion, this competition has never been more exciting.

We received a great number of amazing submissions in the Techno round, and after a challenging deliberation, our team selected the 12 standout tracks that made it into the shortlist. You can check them out on our SoundCloud profile in the playlist below.

Why we choose LOZZ's track?

The selection process was incredibly tough, and our team faced a real challenge in choosing the track that truly stood out as the best. After much deliberation, we’re thrilled to announce LOZZ as the ultimate winner of this round. Here’s why:

  • Creative & Original – The track brings a fresh and unique look at the genre that sets it apart.  Its bold ideas and unexpected elements showcase true artistic identity.

  • Unstoppable Groove – It’s impossible to stay still—this track makes you move, which is essential for the genre. Its dynamic flow and irresistible beat make it a true dancefloor weapon.

  • Technical Excellence -  From production quality to sound design, the track stands out on every level. Each element is polished with precision, reflecting a high level of skills and attention to detail.

Once again, congratulations to LOZZ for delivering a track that blew us away! Listen to the winning track below, and check out a Q&A with him to dive into their creative process, inspirations, and what it takes to craft an award-winning track.

Can you introduce yourself and describe your journey as a music producer and artist?

I'm Lozz, a 28-year-old music producer from Italy! I've been producing for roughly 15 years now, working across many genres within the realm of EDM. Over the past couple of years, I stopped releasing music under my Lozz alias, but I've been producing a lot as a ghost producer — we're talking hundreds of projects.

What sparked your interest in music production, and how did you begin?

My interest in music production sparked in the very early Skrillex era: his nasty sound design was the very first input that got me downloading FL Studio. After that, I got heavily into dubstep, building a very solid foundation for sound design and music production. There weren’t many tutorials at the time, so having to figure out stuff by myself, I think, really helped me out long term.

Where do you find your inspiration, and who or what has influenced your music style?

During my career, I moved from dubstep to bass house, to tech house, and I'm now in a melodic house phase. I will name a few producers that have been inspiring me, but I think in reality, they span into the hundreds. To name a few: Skrillex, Virtual Riot, JOYRYDE, Habstrakt, Tchami, AC Slater, Taiki Nulight, Nu Aspect, Meduza, James Hype, Chris Lake. These were the first that came to mind. Over the years, I grabbed some elements and ideas from each of them, but I know the list could go on forever. I feel like this is crucial to being an artist: understand what you like and why, analyze it, and make it yours!

What message do you hope your music conveys to your audience?

With my current melodic house phase, I'd love to be able to pull some people's emotional strings, making my music resonate with them as it does for me. All that while being carried by some real bouncy beats and basslines, which have always been my strength in music.

What are your plans as a producer? Can you give us a sneak peek at your upcoming releases?

As I mentioned, my Lozz project is currently on hold, but I'm working very hard on new house music. Very soon, you might hear something from this project. Cheers!
